Movies, Movies, Movies!

Hello!

Wow gosh it's been a really long time since I last came in here. Well, nothing much to blog about since my life has been somewhat ordinary and been pretty much a routine. Since I have time, I might as well post something today. And it's all about movies that I have watched at the cinema!

The first time I saw the trailer for Salt, I knew I had to watch the movie since it looked so cool! With Angelina Jolie, you can expect slick action and sexy eyes piercing through yours as though she was looking at you intently and of course her adoring lips. All right, let's not get carried away.

The movie has an overall guessing game to the identity of the main character, Evelyn Salt to whether she is a Russian spy sent to kill the President of the United States. There are twists and turns and unexpected truths lie ahead as the story unfolds. I wish the ending would be better but overall a good thriller with car chases and of course the one and only Angelina Jolie.

Toy Story 3! After a few years since Part 2 was released, Pixar has done it again with the toys having one heck of a ride of their lives. Andy, their owner is going to college and the toys are worried that they would be thrown away. One thing led to another and they ended up in a preschool where things were not as sunny as they thought it would. Led by the awesome Woody and mighty Buzz, the toys work together to get back to Andy before it's too late.

For me, any movie from Pixar would always bring joy to viewers since it has the ability to mix various emotions into the movie. It's great for the whole family to watch and the ending was very heart-warming. Also, expect wacky characters and witty lines that would tickle your funny bone. Awesome movie!

Usually this is not my kind of movie to watch but it looked interesting, so I tagged along with a couple of friends to watch it. The Robin Hood you have always known where he steals to give back to the poor is not really portrayed in this story since this is Robin Hood before those days. There's a history to this but it'll take an entire night to tell so let's just get to the point.

Russell Crowe plays Robin Hood well with his cool vibe and accent. There's a scene in the end where he shoots the bad guy who was escaping from him from far. That was dang awesome! They don't call him Robin Hood for nothing. Great adventure and cool story. I'm starting to like bird names like Raven and Robin. Oops random.

I just watched this today and heck I enjoyed it. I know people have been criticizing about this movie since there were many issues like the actors not really fitting the characters as compared to the cartoon series and the cast were made up of Americans when it's supposed to be an Asian influenced movie. I guess the audience who are familiar with the series have high expectations for the movie and I can understand their views. All right, for me the Fire Nation would be better off with Japanese or Chinese people taking the role and there should be more action scenes as I felt there weren't enough.

Still, the special effects were great and we shall see how the next 2 movies would turn out. Hopefully, there would be improvements after much critiques by everyone out there.

Lastly, let me just say I WANT THIS PHONE. Gosh, the above picture would tell you why. And of course, I love it. Enough said.

To all Muslims out there, happy fasting for the month of Ramadan!

Well, until here then. Bye! Nash out! :D

IRON MAN 2

"Welcome back, sir. All status are a go. Anything you need?"
"Prepare blog layout for new post."
"As you wish, sir."

Haha! How I wish that would be true. Well, no harm imagining it. I love the whole computer system Tony Stark has. It's so cool! Anyway, I watched Iron Man 2 and it's awesome! I think Robert Downey Jr is a good and funny actor and played the character well in this story. The new suit, War Machine, packs a punch and with Iron Man by his side, they are unstoppable. Love the action and humorous lines and antics of Tony Stark. Overall, awesome!

Work as usual is like a routine. I keep glancing at the clock at work, just waiting for the day to end. This has to go on for another year or so. Sigh. Well, I just take it one day at a time.

Until here folks! Bye! Nash out! :D

How To Train Your Dragon

Hello!

The last 2 days, I have been watching How To Train Your Dragon with my close buddy, Indra and my Archie buddies, Jeff and Mai. Haha! The movie is darn fun and awesome to watch! The whole storyline and script is pretty good and love the antics of the characters, especially the main ones, Hiccup and Toothless, the Night Fury Dragon. The audience was always in suspense from the start till the end, with of course, certain puppy eyes from the oh-so-adorable black dragon itself. LOL. If you want to destress or just have a good time, this is the movie to watch. Why do you think the tickets for this movie were selling fast when I wanted to buy tickets? LOL.

Hanging out with my close buddy was pretty cool since it's been a long time since we hung out. We ate at Swensens with the voucher I got from work and we enjoyed our baked rices. Then, we just rambled and walked around Marina Square before catching the movie and headed home. Can't believe it's been 6 to 7 years we known each other and we still kept in touch. Haha! Thanks Indra for the good time!

As for yesterday, I hung out with my Archie buddies and had a lot of fun! We kept laughing over random funny stuff and caught the movie before heading to Starbucks@One Fullerton to chill. Jeff brought his Polaroid camera which he got for his birthday (dang cool) and he tested it out for the first time. Haha! The photos turned out pretty good since the cafe had a cool ambience and good lighting and I'm loving it. LOL. Thanks Jeff for the photos and Mai for your jokes! You guys are awesome! :D

Well, until here then. Bye! Nash out! :D

Young and Earnest Geek

I stumbled upon an article today (Source: The New Paper) regarding American Idol 9 and how they are comparing it to past Idol alumni contestants. Here's one comparing Aaron Kelly and David Archuleta.

What do you think? In a way, I agree. There can only be one and only DAVID ARCHULETA. Haha!

Looking Ahead

Hello!

Today, I went to see Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief. It is wicked awesome! It is very Harry Potter-ish so I love tat kind of genre of fantasy and of course special effects. Haha! The main actor, Logan Lerman is pretty good and he kinda reminds me of Zac Efron, but he looks more mature (not sure if that's a good or bad thing to girls). I can see he can venture a lot into the movie industry. Anyway, there's humour, love, friendship, bravery, family and down-to-earth traits wrapped all in one. Pretty good entertainment!

Speaking of which, the posters are really awesome. Should I purchase them? Haha! Problem. I don't have much space on my walls for another poster. Hmm. How about a slightly smaller one? Haha! I also didn't know this was an adaptation from a book series and turns out there are 4 more stories to tell. Haha! Looking forward to more Percy Jackson on the big screen!

So, I have been thinking about this year and the things that I'm looking forward to. Here are some I can think of right now.

  1. David Archuleta's sophomore album
  2. Jojo's new album
  3. Iron Man 2 movie
  4. Toy Story 3 trailer
  5. Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows Part 1 movie
  6. New American Idol
  7. Change? Well in something but not sure what.
I'll add more when I think of more. Haha!

Well, until here then. Bye! Nash out! :D

Concerts, Money and Age

Yo yo!

First off, if you noticed anything different about this blog, of course it's the header on top. Haha! It's time for a change since it's been there for a quite a while since last year. It features 3 of my favourite Idol singers, Carrie Underwood, Kris Allen and of course, my favourite of all, David Archuleta! Haha! I hope you like it as much as I do.

Well, speaking of Kris Allen, he came down to Singapore yesterday to hold a concert at Zirca Megaclub at Clarke Quay. If you have not known, he's the first American Idol winner to hold a solo concert here. Well, I know Carrie Underwood came down here before to perform in conjunction of the official opening of Ion Orchard some time before. That may not sound like a concert to them (I don't know whether they know) but to me it is. A whole set of 10 songs or so during that free night concert was so worth it. Haha. What's more, I rushed down there after booking out of camp with an expensive cab fare and battling heavy traffic, thinking it might too be late. Thank goodness I was just in time! Such fond memories. :D

Oh where was I? Oh I was sidetracked. Haha! Anyway, I missed the opportunity to attend Kris' concert as first of all I was broke and secondly, my work schedule was not out yet some days before the concert so I was not sure if I had work on that day. And it turned out I was free on that night. Sigh. Oh well. I hope he comes back again for another concert. From the online videos, it looked like an awesome concert! Here's my favourite. He had fun on stage with his fans!

Don't you notice that money matters today? It doesn't matter what it's used for. It is still needed for our needs and wants, particularly needs. Sometimes, we focus too much on our needs that our wants are neglected and thus, there is not enough money to buy our wants. Well you can see an example from here, the Kris Allen concert tickets. Haha! Just when the opportunity was there, another setback arose. Money.

Honestly, it's hard to survive in this world without money and to get money, we need education. So kids, if you have the chance to study, don't waste it. It'll definitely help you find a job and of course earn money.

So lesson learnt. Back up a portion of your money for certain wants although the needs are the first priority. Haha! What do I mean? Savings of course. Also, I guess I have to make wiser choices when spending, no doubt. I know I'm guilty like buying a costly movie poster for myself last month (The Blind Side. LOVE IT). But hey, it's a once-in-a-lifetime thing, so I guess it's alright. Still, balance is key. LOL.

I don't believe I'm turning 21 this year. Am I that old already? Honestly, I still feel like I'm 18 or something. I don't know. Maybe I still feel like a kid inside. Haha!

Well, I shall stop here. Until here then! Bye! Nash out! :D

Change?

Heyya!

It's been a while since I have updated. Haha! Well nothing interesting happened during the period so it was kind of pointless if I write about boring stuff right? Oh well, moving on.

Let's start from yesterday where I finally passed out from Basic Police Training in National Service! Haha! Everyone was in high spirits and it felt like Hari Raya whereby everyone was wishing each other all the best in their future endeavours and asking for forgiveness should they have done wrong with one another during the past 3 to 4 months that have passed. Quite a sight really. LOL.
Furthermore, I got an award for Best in Professional Studies, which I really was not expecting to get. I thought my other mates might get it since they are quite studious and well, I felt I was not up to their level. Haha! All right that doesn't make sense. In any way, I am grateful for the award and I thank everyone, especially my OC (Officer in Charge), who has been a great guide to me.

Today, I had fun hanging out with my family! First we went to a music store before watching a movie called the Blind Side. My mom and dad had fun listening to the music me and my sister introduced and they were grooving to them such as Lady Gaga, Carrie Underwood and Bon Jovi. Haha! We ended up buying a couple of albums from the store. All right, on to the movie next.

Let me just say I love this movie to bits! Sandra Bullock has really played her character well as a firm and strong headed woman who always stand by her beliefs and principles. A story about love and redemption, it would sure to touch you one way or another, whether is the story of the whole life of Michael Oher (pronouced "oar") or the heartwarming scenes of family bonding. Whatever it is, I strongly recommend this movie to all. Why do you think the tickets were selling out fast when we got there? :D

Also, you could also purchase the book by Michael Lewis if you still want to know more about the true story of this brilliant family. I truly love and respect them. I'm still at Chapter 4, but I can't wait to continue reading it. Haha!

Well, until here then. Bye! Nash out! :D

P.S I'm starting to like BMW cars. Haha!

Hey peeps!

First of all, away with 2009 and hello to 2010! I hope you guys had a great start to the year! Here's to a decade!

A new year means different things for different people. For some, it might a year where they want to improve themselves in terms of education, character, whatever you name it. It could be anything that their heart desires.

For others, it might be a new chapter in their lives where they would have to close the black book of 2009 and look forward to a brand and fresh year to start anew in their lives.

Whatever it is, let's make this year fruitful and do our best in everything we do. Look in the mirror and ask yourself. Are you willing to be a better person?
